Measuring for a roller blind with a chain pull for an L-shaped window, a corner or box-bay window
Step 1 – Determine the size of the roll
First you will need to know approximately which diameter size the fabric roll of the mounted roller blind will have. Please determine the approximate size of the roll of the roller blind by using the table on the right.
Step 2 – Decide how to install the roller blinds
Then you need to determine how you would like to install the roller blinds in the windows. There are 3 different options to chose from.
A. The main front roller blind goes across the front, nearly from corner to corner. Then the side roller blinds are placed right up against the front blind.
B. The side roller blind goes all the way into the corner, and the front roller blind is installed next to side one. This option is great if the side window is smaller than our smallest roller blind size (30 cm).
C. This option does not work for all corner og box-bay windows. If the window frame in the corner is very small, we recommend using method A. or B. instead, to make sure that the roller blinds will cover the glass area. There should also be room to install the brackets.
Step 3 – Measure the width of the roller blind
If option Step 2, Option A. was chosen please use the following instruction:
To measure for the front roller blind, just measure the full width from one side of the window sill to the other side. This will be the finished width measure for the roller blind with a chain pull.
To measure for the side roller blind, measure the full width from one side of the window sill to the other side. When you have this measurement, you need to deduct the measure of the fabric roll from Step 1.
This will be the finished width of the roller blind.
If you selected Step 2, Option B , use the following instructions:
To measure for the side roller blind with a chain pull, just measure the full width from one side of the window sill to the other side. This will be the finished width measurement for the roller blind with a chain pull.
To measure up to the roller blind facing the front of the room, measure the full width from one side of the window sill to the other. Once you have this measurement, subtract the measurement of the fabric roll from Step 1 .
This will be the finished width of the roller blind facing the front.
If Step 2, option C. is selected, use the following instructions:
Simply measure both the front and side windows from one side of the window sill to the other side of the window sill. Once you have these measurements, subtract the fabric roll diameter measurement from step 1. This measurement should be subtracted from both the side roll and the front roller blind.
This will be the final width measurement for each roller blind.
If your window has handles or anything that protrudes past the window sill, we recommend that you order the blinds with a ‘reversed roll’. The fabric then rolls down from the front of the tube and hangs in front of any obstacles.
Step 4 – Measure the height of the roller blind
Measure from the top where the blind is to be mounted down to the desired end point (typically the window sill). Please measure all windows, especially in older windows these measurements may vary. The final height measurement should be used when ordering the blind.
Please note that the tube and brackets are included in the drop and that you will need a flat space of at least 5 cm to mount the brackets securely.
Step 5 – Ordering the roller blinds
Enter the final width and height measurements from Steps 3 and 4 when ordering the roller blind on our website.
Please check all measurements before placing your order to ensure a perfect fit.
